We really are expecting :)
We announced Maggie on April Fools Day, so it might as well be tradition, right? The pictures in the previous post were taken in January when Maggie made her announcement to Daddy.
Whitney, I had to laugh when I read your comment about ruining a shirt for that. Jonathan responded the same way in January when he saw Maggie. After he laughed, he said, "you ruined a shirt?" I predicted he'd respond that way though, so I wrote it in washable marker. That's why you can see a few smeared spots where Maggie dripped water onto the shirt :)
I suppose you all want your questions answered now...
I'm 15 weeks along, which makes me due toward the end of September. The calculation on the doctor's computer said September 12th, the nurse told me September 19th, and upon looking at the ultrasound the doctor said it looked more like September 27th. Grandpa's hoping it comes on his birthday (September 13th). I really think it will be around the 20th, but we'll see. Maggie measured small on her first ultrasound too, but then my due date got moved up a week toward the end of the pregnancy.
Maggie and baby-number-two will be one or two weeks shy of being exactly two years apart. (Maggie will be 18 months tomorrow.)
I have been fortunate again because I have not been sick. In fact, the other night I was telling Jonathan that sometimes I forget I'm pregnant because I don't really feel any different. I do feel exhausted everyday, I'm hungry every two hours, and I feel fat...but no nausea or anything like that. Needless to say, the reality of baby-number-two hasn't quite sunk in yet.
Hearing the heartbeat did make it a little more real. I could tell as soon as soon as the doctor found the heartbeat that it was quite a bit slower than I remember Maggie's being. I was about to say something about it, when the doctor said, "sounds like it might be a little boy." So we'll see. We'll probably find out for sure in May. We're kind of hoping for a boy so we know we'll have at least one of each, but we'd be thrilled with another girl as well.
I have felt the baby move a few times, which also helps the reality sink in a little more.
When I was pregnant with Maggie it seemed like I wanted to eat anything I saw. With this one I feel hungry, but nothing ever sounds very appetizing (especially if I have to prepare it first). So that is a little annoying, but maybe it will help me gain less weight this time around.
I haven't had many cravings. I was craving Panda Express, but the closest Panda Express to us is a four + hour drive away. So when we went to the Jazz game I wasn't going to pass up on the opportunity to have orange chicken, chow mien, and sweet and sour pork from Panda Express. I also craved a chocolate dipped ice cream cone so I got one from Arctic Circle. I don't think the girl knew how to dip it though. The chocolate was seriously a quarter inch thick and all of the ice cream underneath was melted. It left much to be desired for. Dairy Queen has them advertised for $0.99 so when it's not snowing outside maybe I'll go try again. Not that you care about my ice cream fantasies.
There, I think that should answer everyone's questions.

Wahoo!! You know, I though the same thing about ruining the shirt, but when I saw that maggie had spilled and it had smeared, I figured it was washable...and definately a trick!!
I am glad you are feeling well. Looks like our babies are only a few weeks apart. I am due on the
6th of sept but will have a c-section around the 31st of August!
I'm glad you are feeling well...can't wait to see the baby bump forming!
Congratulation. We are excited for you guys and especially for Maggie. Hope you continue to feel well.
Good to know it was washable but even if it wasnt it is a cute way to announce the news. but that is very exciting and congrats! and I dont even remember anything about you announcing maggies on april fools. but that will be so fun. it is so weird to me a lot of my friends that had babies around the same time I did are getting pregnant again. Which is normal to have your kids spaced 2 years apart. but it is just weird becuase I am no where close ready to have another one. but congrats cant wait to see what you are having and the baby bump!
Wahoo, I'm super excited for you!! Maggie looks so proud :) Glad that you are feeling so well! Congrats!! And seriously if you make it out to the Dairy Queen anytime soon... you should try their cherry dipped cone... Ben could have one of those after every meal! So happy for you guys!
