WOW!

I don't know about anyone else, but I was getting a little tired of hearing about Brett Favre. I was glad the Olympics rolled around when they did and that they figured out who Favre was going to play for so that the media's focus could shift a little. I am now getting a little tired of hearing about Michael Phelps. Don't get me wrong, it's not that I don't support U.S. swimming or that I'm not an Olympic fan, because I am. I think what he has accomplished is amazing! I just wish there was more attention on the underdogs and the athletes who faced extreme challenges to make it to the Olympics. But, aside from that, I received this in a Drover's e-mail this morning and could not help but be amazed at Phelps!
U.S. Olympic swimming sensation Michael Phelps says he consumes up to 12,000 calories per day. Phelps, 23, told NBC this week, "Eat, sleep and swim. That's all I can do." He starts his day with three fried-egg sandwiches loaded with cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, fried onions and mayonnaise. He follows that up with two cups of coffee, a five-egg omelet, a bowl of grits, three slices of French toast topped with powdered sugar and three chocolate-chip pancakes. For lunch he eats a pound of enriched pasta and two large ham and cheese sandwiches slathered with mayo on white bread. For dinner he eats another pound of pasta and an entire pizza.
Imagine how much it costs to feed him every day! My measly extra 300 calories per day are nothing compared to his diet!

Do you ever listen to Glenn Beck on the radio? He's doing this thing this week where he assigned one of his producers to try to eat 12,000 calories in like 27 hours. He isn't doing so well... only ate like 8,000 or something. Can you imagine?

I love the Olympics!

It was good to see you today! You're so cute and pregnant. I'm excited for you.
