The Usual

I was thinking of a lot of things I wanted to write about, but I've seemed to have forgotten all but a few. As a result this will probably be pretty scattered...and as usual it will mostly be about Maggie.

She is obsessed with being outside. Today she kept standing by the door with her coat, whining. So Jonathan took her outside a few times for quite some time. When he brought her back inside she cried and threw a tantrum. Yeah, I said tantrum. I'm afraid the terrible twos are coming early around these parts. She's been throwing mini tantrums for a while now, but as of late she is getting much more serious about thrashing her legs and banging her head.

Yesterday we got new phones. We got really nice touchscreen phones for a really nice deal. Technology amazes me. Two years ago when we got new phones I thought our phones were pretty nice...now they're pretty out of date compared to a lot of phones out there!

Last night Maggie burned her finger on the wood stove. I felt awful! We really try to keep her as far away from the stove as possible, but sometimes I think that just makes her more curious so she tries even harder to get to it. We were both in the other room for a minute while Maggie was playing in the living room. Next thing I knew she started crying and came running to me with her forefinger sticking up. I knew right away what she must have done. She cried for a LONG time. I guess it was bound to happen at some point, but I still felt like I had failed as a mother. Today she has a terrible blister on that finger. Hopefully she learned a lesson.

Amidst her being so worked up we realized she had a pimply, itchy, rash forming all over her stomach, chest, and her back. It looked like it could be the beginning of chicken pox, but she didn't have a fever. I had given her Motrin for her burn though so I guess that could have reduced any fever she might have had. On top of that she had a distended stomach. Maggie is never sick. She had a fever once during the night, but it was gone by morning. Anyway, the few times she has been sick I usually overreact since it's so rare. Needless to say we were freaking out a little since we didn't know what was going on and we already felt bad about her finger. Anyway, she's much better today--we think it was just heat rash since the house was pretty warm and she had gotten so worked up about her finger. Plus she had quite the appetite yesterday so I think her distended stomach was from eating so much.

These pictures don't correlate with any of the above stories, but they were funny so I had to include them.
Maggie was playing peek-a-boo with a fuzzy blanket. She wasn't sure what to think about the resulting static.

Maggie pulled one of Jonathan's t-shirts from his mission out of his drawer. She was dragging it around for a long time and kept trying to put it on. So I helped her out a little. I remember using my dad's old t-shirts as night gowns when I was little, so this picture reminded me of back when.

That's all folks.

Maggie is so cute! She seems to take after her mother, what a doll. I love her crazy hair.
