We are planning on closing on the July 10 (a week from today, yippee!) and then we will move in on the 11th.
For our personal safety I have an unwritten rule for this blog that I will never disclose our last name (if you have it on your blog, will you kindly take it off--thanks) or the town where we live. So I won't say exactly where the house is located, but it is located in a cute little town (population less than 600). We didn't really want to live in town, especially since we have horses and dogs. This house just felt the best though, and taking this move will allow us to more easily save for our ultimate goal of starting our own ranch someday. The yard is also smaller than we wanted, but there is a field behind the house that is currently leased out to a farmer. We think there might be the potential in the future to expand our lot. But, for now we will be renting a pasture by the house and keeping the horses there.
The house is an older one level home, but I really like the character that it has. I have some obsession with older homes and their history. I'm not sure where it came from. Maybe from my intense desire to live in the olden days...that is as long as I could bring along a few modern conveniences like indoor plumbing and electricity.
Sorry I started rambling; back to the house. It's technically a three bedroom home, but the laundry room has been finished like a bedroom with washer and dryer hook-ups in the closet. So we'll call it a four bedroom home. The previous owner was a professional tiler, so the whole house has been updated with beautiful tile floors and carpet.
Then there's the kitchen! I love it. It has beautiful hickory cabinets and nice counters with a good amount of counter space. I keep imagining myself making scrumptious meals and wedding cakes in the country-esque kitchen. I never said I could make scrumptious meals, I said I keep imagining it. As if moving into a new house will suddenly turn me into a culinary genius?
The yard has a nice garden area, a few shade trees and lilac bushes, and a fire-pit. I can't wait to plant a garden and make s'mores and roast hot dogs in our yard. I am even excited to mow the lawn, but we'll see how long that lasts.
I think that just about covers it. Do you have any questions?
