Our Latest Adventures

Wednesday afternoon at the last minute we decided to take a quick trip to Pendleton, Oregon for a bull sale. I grabbed everything I could think of that we might need and we were on our way. We drove to Caldwell that night and stayed in a nice La Quinta. Thursday morning we drove to Pendleton. This is our second time making this trip together, and I have to say I'm not a big fan of the Umatilla National Forest and the surrounding area. It's really pretty, but the roads have been awful both times. One jack-knifed semi and a few slide-offs later, we arrived in Pendleton safely. Maggie did well at her first bull sale...in fact she did better there than she does at church. When it was nap-time we just headed out to the car and took a snooze there. After the sale we drove back to Boise and caught up with some old friends. We spent the night in a Not-So-Super 8 and then drove back home yesterday. Maggie is awesome in the car and she makes it really easy to travel...which is good because we're going to be delivering bulls after the sale on the 12th. If it's like last year we'll be going to Oregon (back through the Umatilla National Forest with a trailer full of bulls), California, Nevada, etc. I'm hoping this year it gets mixed up a little though and we can go somewhere new, like South Dakota. Jonathan has never seen Mount Rushmore.

When we got home, I put Maggie down for tummy time. No more than two seconds passed when she effortlessly rolled to her back. She made it look like she had done this thousands of times before. I was amazed. And of course, I can't get her to do it again. But, she has officially rolled from tummy to back so at least I know she can do it. I'm not sure if I'm ready for her to be mobile yet.

Maggie has also found her toes. She discovered them a few weeks ago with her right hand. She likes to hold onto them any time she's laying on her back. She still only holds onto her right toes though. I think she'll be right handed.

I forgot to mention previously that two of my sisters and two of my sisters-in-law are pregnant. I love babies and I'm so excited to have this little baby boom in the family. My sister-in-law from Jonathan's side is due in a week or so. The other three are from my side and they're all due within a few weeks of each other--August 28, September 16, and September 28. Apparently something is in the water down there :)

I keep thinking of things I should blog about, but this post is all I can remember for now. I'm sure I'll be back soon.

I hope to be seeing a picture of Maggie holding her toes soon. That is one of the cutest things babies do in my mind.

So far we are liking Omaha. It is a lot like Utah weather. However, I hear that the summers are hot and super humid. So if you ask me then I may not like Omaha.
