We always ask Maggie "who's cute" and she raises her hand in response. This morning when I finished getting ready for the day, she came over to me, lifted my hand up in the air, and said, "you're cute!" How's that for a compliment?
About one fifth of our days are decent weather now, so we have been taking advantage of it by going to the park and working in the yard. I'm so thankful that spring always comes, even if it seems like it takes forever. I've been redoing our fire pit. It's almost finished and if I may say so myself, it's a vast improvement. It was just a cinder block circle before and it was really big...too big to really use as a fire pit. Plus the blocks weren't flush with the ground so it was a pain to mow around. It worked okay for burning yard debris, but not so much for roasting marshmallows. I made it an actual pit and broke all the cinder blocks up to give it a stone look. It looks a little more professional now and should be easier to mow around/over once it's finished. Now I just have to wait for nice weather so I can use it for some dutch oven goodness and s'mores :)
| I wish I had a "before" picture, but I don't. At least you get to see the "after" picture :) |
We went and visited Daddy at work for a few minutes yesterday. Maggie got to ride a horse with Daddy. That absolutely made her day. She had the biggest grin on her face and still lights up when she sees the picture of it. We'll have to visit Daddy more often.
Maggie wanted to pick her outfit today. I picked the shirt; she picked the rest. Her outfit wasn't complete until she had her boots and "cow-cow hat" on. She's turning into quite the little cowgirl. She loves to point out "mommy cows," tractors, and horses and she loves being outside.

That fire pit looks great, you are one talented girl, I don't think I would ever attempt that...ever. Um, Maggie should be a little model. She's so adorable.
LOVEing the boots. What a doll. And I'm so jealous of the fire pit. My mouth is watering just thinking about the delicious meals, and s'mores that can be made over that.
