I wish someone would have told me that my tiny-little-petite Maggie was going to look and feel like a giant as soon as Lane arrived. I almost cry each time I get her dressed, or pick her up; she's grown far more than I ever realized. Today someone classified her as a preschooler since she's just about two. That was hard to swallow--preschooler, already?
It's been one thing after another with us lately. It's a good thing my recovery from child birth went well because I've had to recover from enough on top of that. I had a cold before I had Lane and afterward it wasn't going away. I think the stress of having a newborn aggravated it enough that it turned into more than just a plain old cold. So next I had an eye infection and Maggie caught it as well. We were both on antibiotic eye drops and I was also on an oral antibiotic because they didn't feel the cold was viral since I still hadn't gotten over it. I couldn't wear my contacts and since my glasses prescription is ancient I was pretty much blind for a week. If I needed to go anywhere I had to have someone else drive me. Next thing I know I started having major stomach cramps, which were because of a sensitivity to the oral antibiotic. So I stopped taking those and was put on another medicine to get my stomach back to normal. Now Lane has the eye infection--do you know how hard it is to administer eye drops to a newborn? Anyway, I'm not trying to whine or moan or grumble, I'm just hoping we can all get back to our regular health. Jonathan told me after yet another trip to the pharmacy that it's not a good sign when the Wal-mart pharmacist, who sees a plethora of people everyday, doesn't even have to ask for your name because you've been in there so often.
Lane passed his hearing test. I wasn't very concerned that he wouldn't because he reacted to noises, but it was still nice to be told by an expert that he could hear.
Maggie's birthday is on Sunday. I still haven't decided what kind of birthday cake to make her...or what to give her for that matter.
Lane had his two week check-up today. I never asked what all his stats were...I know, I'm winning in the mom category :) I do know that he weighs 7 pounds 11 ounces though.
Maggie's been a great big sister so far. She's willing to help me out and seems to enjoy the extra responsibilities I have given her. She has her moments, and consequently I have moments when I feel like ripping my hair out, but for the most part she has done far better than I was expecting. She loves to give Lane kisses, which is one of the most adorable things I've ever seen.
Lane's a good sleeper for the most part. He has had a few rough nights, but I think a lot of it had to do with his goopy eyes.
Apparently my Mommy break is over. Toodleloo.

Having a new baby is hard enough. If you add all that recovering you have to do, that's a lot of stress to handle. I hope you are doing okay. It will be so nice when everyone is well again.
Oh you poor girl! Hopefully you will all get over your sickness and you can enjoy both your kiddos! I totally know what you mean about Maggie looking huge. I felt the same way about Brock when I had Jaylee. It is so sad when they aren't little anymore. Congrats on your new addition!
I totally know what you mean about Maggie looking big, I had Dallin when Tay was 19 months and he was a GIANT compared and I seriously cried when I changed both their bums together. So funny! You're doing a great job, it's definitely an adjustment, but a day at a time huh? Can't wait to see Maggies cake, Happy Happy day to her!
