Oh Happy Night!
Every Mother should Read This!
All Diapers are NOT Created Equal!
Those are all possible titles for this post. You can pick your favorite.
Here's the scoop: I mentioned earlier how Maggie has not been sleeping well (or as well) since Daylight Savings Time ended. I've thought of possibles reasons why this could be. I thought maybe I was accidentally forcing a new schedule on her because of the time change and she was thus over tired and had a hard time sleeping. The time change also happened the night before her blessing. She got passed around a lot at her blessing so I thought maybe she just got to used to sleeping in some one's arms and she didn't like her crib anymore. Or maybe she was sick, without any signs. No conclusion I came to really made any sense though. UNTIL NOW!
You see, when you have a baby you get a lot of diapers as a gift, which is a good thing. Every person who gave us diapers seemed to give us a different brand though, so we've been switching around a lot as we have worked through the packages. The other night while I was up feeding her for the third time I thought to myself, "She hasn't been sleeping well since we switched to Huggies diapers." Then I realized that her old diapers ran out the day after Daylight Savings Time ended/the day of her blessing. I put two-and-two together and it all made sense! Could it really be as simple as switching back? I'm surprised I was thinking this clearly in the middle of the night!
I ran my hypothesis past Jonathan. I found a couple of the previous brand of diapers in the diaper bag since we don't go through them as quickly. Last night I put one on her and put her to bed just after nine. She slept until 4:30, was asleep again by 5:00 and then slept until 8:30. I feel like a new woman with that much sleep! When she started crying at 4:30 I looked at the clock and said, "Yes!" after I realized my hypothesis was correct. Jonathan said he has never seen anyone so excited to get out of bed.
So, if your baby isn't sleeping well try changing diapers. Huggies fit the contour of her little bum better so the wetness was right against her. The cheaper brand is more rectangular so when she's wet it's not right against her skin. The other miracle is that she has baby acne pretty bad, but after a good night's sleep her face is much clearer today.
So, is it a coincidence that she slept better after I switched diapers? Maybe, but I'll avoid sleeping her in Huggies from now on.

I totally agree with you! I have to splurge and buy pampers because I think you really do get what you pay for in a diaper...and my kids sleep 12 hours so maybe you should try pampers!
